Head of Region

Intro

Belgian Red Cross-Flanders (BRC-FL) is part of the worldwide Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) Movement. Respecting the seven principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality is at all times key in what we do. The International Department focuses on three key thematic areas: International Humanitarian Law, Restoring Family Links, and our International Operations. In close cooperation with the sister RCRC National Society of each country and its many volunteers, BRC-FL focuses on first aid, blood banking and disaster response as technical expertise areas. Scientific research is the backbone in our ambition to achieve maximum impact.

This support is provided either through a physical delegation in the country or from its HQ in Flanders. In addition to contact with the relevant sister National Societies, there are also regular contacts and collaborations with the ICRC and IFRC.

Next to the contextualization of BRC-FL’s national expertise to relevant regions, international emergency aid is another key priority pillar within BRC-FL's strategy, with support provided through various modalities: direct financial aid, donations of emergency relief goods, communication and fundraising campaigns, and/or the deployment of personnel in the affected region.
In order to strengthen the International department, we are recruiting a Head of Region with duty station in Uganda (Kampala) or Mozambique (Maputo).
